Priority Bills

Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez discusses with media his stand on priority legislative measures, including the death penalty bill and the lowering of the age of criminal liability. With respect to the death penalty, Alvarez said he expects the House to have exhaustive debates on the bill but he also expressed confidence that it would eventually be passed. However, he said Pres. Rodrigo Duterte respects the independence of Congress. Meanwhile, Alvarez also bared his advice for Cabinet members to resign if they cannot support the policies of the administration.
