RPPt Subsistence allowance ng mga sundalo higit doble ang itataas sa 2025 budget— Speaker Romualdez

Ibinalita ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez na itataas ng Kamara de Representantes ng mahigit doble ang arawang subsistence allowance ng mga miyembro ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa ilalim ng 2025 national budget. 

Ginawa ni Speaker Romualdez ang anunsyo sa fellowship ng mga opisyal ng Kamara at AFP sa pangunguna ni Deputy Chief of Staff  Lt. Gen Charlton Sean Gaerlan, na siyang kumatawan kay AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Romeo Brawner Jr. na ginanap sa Naval Operating Base sa Subic, Zambales Biyernes ng umaga. 

“Now, I’ll give you this brief announcement that I hope will make you happy. We, the House of Representatives, have already undertaken that in the forthcoming budget, we shall now include a P15-billion package that will increase, will more than double your 150-peso subsistence allowance to 350,” ani Speaker Romualdez, na umani ng pakalpakan mula sa mga nakikinig na sundalo

“I repeat, we are more than doubling your subsistence allowance, and that is in due recognition for the overdue increase that we think you have deserved for a long time. And we saw it fit to do this immediately in the forthcoming budget,” dagdag niya.

Kasama ni Speaker Romualdez sa pagtitipon sina House Appropriations Committee Chairman at Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Elizaldy Co, Zambales 1st District Rep. Jefferson Khonghun, at Camiguin Lone District Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez, ang desisyon na itaas ang  subsistence allowance ay patunay sa pagnanais ng Kamara na alagaan at tugunan hindi lang ang pangangailangan ng mga sundalo kundi maging ng kanilang pamilya.

“Know that the House of Representatives recognizes the enormity of the problem and is taking concrete steps to ensure that you have all you need to do your duty and accomplish your mission, free from the constraints that hamper your ability to defend our shores,” sabi pa ng lider ng Kamara.

“Alam namin ang mga sakripisyo ninyo, gayundin ng inyong pamilya. Kinikilala namin ito at binibigyan ng halaga,” wika niya.

“Obligasyon po ng inyong pamahalaan na siguruhing sapat ang inyong kakayahan para ipagtanggol ang ating bayan. Misyon din namin na alagaan ang inyong mga mahal sa buhay habang kayo ay nasa larangan,” sabi pa nito.

Binigyang diin ng lider ng Kamara na mayroong mahigit 300 kinatawan ang kahalagahan ng kapakanan ng mga sundalo.

“You are the most important component of our national defense. It is for this reason that we actively pushed for the passage of a sustainable fiscal framework for the pension system of military personnel,” sabi pa nito.

“Hangarin namin na maging payapa ang inyong kaisipan hanggang sa oras ng inyong pagre-retiro. Para maging maganda ang kinabukasan ninyo pati na ang inyong pamilya,” pagbibigay diin pa ng lider ng Kamara.

Muli ring tiniyak ni Speaker Romualdez ang pagsuporta sa dagdag na pondo para sa AFP upang maayos nitong magampanan ang kanilang sinumpaang tungkulin na protektahan ang soberanya at territorial integrity ng bansa.

“Here and now, I re-affirm the commitment I made in earlier interactions with your brothers in other areas of the country: under my watch, the operations of the Armed Forces, and its modernization efforts, shall continue to have adequate budgetary support in 2025 and in the years that follow,” sabi ni Romualdez.

Pinasalamatan din niya ang mga tauhan ng Navy na aniya ay “vanguards of Philippine maritime security.”

“We salute you for all your efforts and sacrifices to maintain our territorial integrity and uphold our national sovereignty,” sabi pa niya.

Tinukoy naman ni Speaker Romualdez ang dalawang batas na pinagtibay ng Kamara para mapalakas ang kakayanan ng AFP— ang Philippine self-reliant defense posture program at ang kalalagda lamang na New Government Procurement Act.

Sa pamamagitan aniya ng self-reliant defense program ay mapalalakas ang kahandaan at kakayanan ng mga sundalo na makagawa ng mga lokal na kagamitang pandigma.

“It ensures cost-effectiveness and quick access to necessary resources, tailored to the specific needs of the military. Additionally, the SRDP boosts national security, innovation, and morale by fostering self-sufficiency and national pride in locally produced defense technologies,” saad pa niya.

Ang bagong procurement law naman na Republic Act No. 12009, na nilagdaan ng Pangulo kamakailan lang, ay titiyak na ang mga military establishment ay makabibili ng kanilang mga pangangailangan alinsunod sa itinakdang panuntunan.

Sa pagtatapos ng kaniyang talumpati ay tinuran nito ang mga kataga ni US President Kennedy “Our goal is not the victory of might, but the vindication of right; not peace at the expense of freedom, but both peace and freedom.”

 

“With peace and freedom, we can better pursue development,” sabi pa ng lider ng Kamara sa mga sundalo. (END)
