RPPt Pagtalakay sa P6.352T budget simula na: Paglago ng ekonomiya dapat maramdaman ng mga Pilipino— Speaker Romualdez

Kasado na ang pagtalakay ng Kamara de Representantes simula bukas, Agosto 5, sa panukalang P6.352-trilyong national budget para sa 2025 na isinumite ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. sa Kongreso noong nakaraang linggo.

Unang haharap sa deliberasyon ng House Committee on Appropriations ang apat na ahensyang miyembro ng economic team ng Presidente na bumubuo sa Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC).

Inaasahan na sina Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez at Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co, ang pinuno ng Appropriations committee sina Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, National Economic and Development Authority Director General Arsenio Balisacan, at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Gov. Eli Remolona Jr.

Ilalatag ng apat na opisyal sa mga miyembro ng komite ang estado ng ekonomiya at ang macro-economic assumptions na ginamit na batayan sa pagbuo ng panukalang badyet para sa 2025.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez, nais niya at ng kaniyang mga kapwa mambabatas na malaman mula sa economic managers kung paano mapapanatili ang paglago ng ekonomiya ng bansa at kung paano ito pakikinabangan ng taumbayan.

“Our economic expansion, projected by multi-lateral financial institutions at between 5.9-6.2 percent next year, should be felt by our people, especially the poor, in terms of more job and income opportunities, more affordable food on their table and lower consumer prices,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez maraming mahihirap ang nagsasabi na tanging ang mga mayayaman, malalaking kompanya at stock and market investors lang ang nakikinabang sa paglago ng ekonomiya ng bansa.

“They say they cannot eat economic growth. If majority of our people do not feel our economic expansion, they should at least see it in terms of the proper use of the national budget for social services, education, health, infrastructure, and direct financial assistance to the poor and other vulnerable sectors,” giit pa niya.

Sinabi rin ng lider ng Kamara na mayroong mahigit 300 kinatawan na nais nilang mataasan ang alokasyon sa mga serbisyo at programa na para sa mga mahihirap.

“Maybe, we cannot get all the data from our resource persons tomorrow, but this is a forewarning to all agency heads who will be asked to attend our hearings: they should better be prepared when it is their turn to face us,” sabi niya.

Sa Martes, ang mga opisyal naman ng Philippine Gaming and Amusement Corp. at Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office ang haharap sa komite para talakayin ang kanilang operasyon.

Ang dalawang ahensyang ito ay kasama sa mga mayroong malalaking ambag sa pondo ng national treasury kasama ang Bureau of Internal Revenue at Bureau of Customs.

Ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources at Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development naman ang nakatakdang sumalang sa Miyerkules.

Habang sa Huwebes ang Department of Energy, Commission on Higher Education at Energy Regulatory Commission.

Magsasagawa ng mga pagdinig ang appropriations committee hanggang Setyembre 9. 

Una nang sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez aaprubahan ang panukalang pondo bago mag-recess ang sesyon ng Kongreso sa susunod na buwan. (END)
