RPPe Speaker Romualdez credits lawmakers collective effort to advance people’s welfare for high trust ratings

SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez on Tuesday attributed his stable high trust ratings in the recent OCTA Research survey to the collective efforts of his colleagues in advancing legislation that directly benefits the Filipino people, emphasizing that these ratings reflect the House of Representatives' commitment to its legislative responsibilities.

The Speaker noted that this achievement serves as a motivation for him and all House members to continue working towards legislation and programs that genuinely prioritize the welfare of the people.

“We attribute these positive trust ratings to the collaborative efforts of the House in passing pro-people legislation and conducting thorough oversight functions to address critical national issues,” Speaker Romualdez said.

He also expressed his “sincerest gratitude” to the Filipino people for the continued rise in trust ratings, reaffirming his commitment to his mandate as Speaker and as a member of Congress.

“Tayo ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa sambayanang Pilipino sa pagtitiwalang patuloy nilang ibinibigay sa ating liderato sa Kongreso. It is both humbling and inspiring for me. Your faith in our work in Congress is a constant reminder of the immense responsibility we carry in serving this nation,” Speaker Romualdez declared.

“It affirms that we are on the right track and, more importantly, that our efforts to pass laws and initiatives that improve the lives of our fellow Filipinos are resonating with the public. Tayo ay grateful dito at nananatili ang ating dedikasyon na higitan pa ang ating nagawa sa Kongreso,” the leader of the 300-plus-strong House of Representatives said.

The second-quarter survey of OCTA Research held from June 30 to July 5 indicates that Speaker Romualdez’s trust rating increased from 61% in March to 62% in the latest survey, buoyed by a significant 9 percent increase in his ratings in Mindanao, from 42% to 51% during the same period.

He added that his high trust ratings challenge him and House members to further push and craft more impactful legislation that benefits the people and addresses societal issues such as POGOs, illegal drugs, and extrajudicial killings.

“Whether in addressing economic challenges, enhancing public services, or securing the welfare of every Filipino, we will continue to work diligently to bring positive change to every corner of our nation,” he expressed.

“Para sa aking mga kasama dito sa Kongreso, ito ay tagumpay nating lahat. This reflects the hard work and dedication each of you puts into your role. Together, we will continue to foster an environment of collaboration and inclusivity, working not for personal gain but for the betterment of our country and the Filipino people,” the Speaker said.
