Yedda Marie Romualdez Statement

“It is not merely an expression of towering aspirations but a commitment to work hard to make the country’s progress a shared experience for everyone, especially the ordinary masses,” ani Rep. Romualdez, chairperson ng House Committee on Accounts.

“The seemingly insurmountable challenges of the past two years, mostly caused by global conflicts and worldwide supply disruptions, have led to rising costs of rice and other agricultural products, driving local inflation up,” ayon pa kay Rep. Romualdez.

“Additionally, local issues such as the West Philippine Sea disputes, the impact of climate change, and the operations of criminal syndicates involved in smuggling and illegal POGO operations have seriously affected not only the social and economic well-being of our country but have also threatened the moral fiber of our nation,” dagdag pa ng lady solon.

“The absolute ban on POGOs is not only a welcome development but also a testament to the decisive leadership of the President.”

Sinabi ni Rep. Romualdez na sa kabila ng mga pagsubok, ang administrasyon at ang Kamara de Representantes ay hindi natitinag na matulungan ang mga Pilipino at hindi tumatalikod sa kanilang tungkulin.

“We stand united and rally behind one another. We did not allow political affiliations or differences in opinions and beliefs to hinder us from prioritizing, above all else, the welfare of every Filipino,” dagdag pa ni Rep. Romualdez.

Inilahad din ng lady solon ang ilang mga nagawa ng 19th Congress, kabilang na ang pagpapatibay ng New Agrarian Emancipation Act, Maharlika Investment Fund Act, Regional Specialty Centers Act, Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act, Caregivers’ Welfare Act, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Code of the Philippines, at Internet Transactions Act

“… all bear witness to our utmost commitment and strong support for a Bagong Pilipinas. While much has been achieved, more remains to be done,” saad pa ng mambabatas.

“The Tingog Party List will continue to work hand in hand with the President in pushing for meaningful public governance – one that is rooted in genuine public service and anchored on the ideals of justice, prosperity, peace, equality and national sovereignty,” dagdag pa ni Rep. Romualdez.

“We will remain steadfast in ensuring that the voices of the Filipino people are not only heard but also felt and championed in the hallowed halls of the House of Representatives, where we have sworn our oath to be their voice,” saad pa nito.

“We stand with the President in fighting against what is wrong and promoting what is right. Rest assured, our loyalty lies not only in our duties but also to the people and, above all, to our beloved country,” ayon pa sa pahayag ni Rep. Romualdez. (END)

This year’s SONA is a realization of the President’s pledge to the Filipino people for a Bagong Pilipinas. It is not merely an expression of towering aspirations but a commitment to work hard to make the country’s progress a shared experience for everyone, especially the ordinary masses.

The seemingly insurmountable challenges of the past two years, mostly caused by global conflicts and worldwide supply disruptions, have led to rising costs of rice and other agricultural products, driving local inflation up.

Additionally, local issues such as the West Philippine Sea disputes, the impact of climate change, and the operations of criminal syndicates involved in smuggling and illegal POGO operations have seriously affected not only the social and economic well-being of our country but have also threatened the moral fiber of our nation.

In the face of these adversities, the administration and the House of Representatives have neither faltered nor shirked in performing our solemn duties. We stand united and rally behind one another. We did not allow political affiliations or differences in opinions and beliefs to hinder us from prioritizing, above all else, the welfare of every Filipino.

The absolute ban on POGOs is not only a welcome development but also a testament to the decisive leadership of the President.

The accomplishments of the 19th Congress, such as the enactment of the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, the Maharlika Investment Fund Act, the Regional Specialty Centers Act, the Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act, the Caregivers’ Welfare Act, the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Code of the Philippines, and the Internet Transactions Act, all bear witness to our utmost commitment and strong support for a Bagong Pilipinas.

While much has been achieved, more remains to be done.

The Tingog Party List will continue to work hand in hand with the President in pushing for meaningful public governance – one that is rooted in genuine public service and anchored on the ideals of justice, prosperity, peace, equality and national sovereignty.

We will remain steadfast in ensuring that the voices of the Filipino people are not only heard but also felt and championed in the hallowed halls of the House of Representatives, where we have sworn our oath to be their voice.

We stand with the President in fighting against what is wrong and promoting what is right. Rest assured, our loyalty lies not only in our duties but also to the people and, above all, to our beloved country.

Mabuhay po tayong lahat. Mabuhay ang Bagong Pilipinas!

RufuSe Rodriguez hails PBBM’s order to ban POGOs

Cagayan de Oro City 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez today lauded the order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ban so-called Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGOs).

“We in the House of Representatives have been calling for the closure of POGOs, whether legal or illegal, because of the evil they have caused not only in the areas where they operate but in other communities. We thank the President for finally heeding our call,” he said.

He said the collective call was reflected in the approval by the House committee on games and amusement early this year of his resolution and a bill authored by Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante, both of which proposed banning POGOs.

“We made the proposal long before the authorities exposed various criminal activities associated with POGOs raided in Bamban, Tarlac and Porac, Pampanga, including money laundering and human trafficking,” he said

He added that like those in Bamban and Porac, most POGO businesses are owned and run by Chinese nationals who employ their own compatriots.

Rodriguez pointed out that many of these Chinese are the brains or are members of criminal syndicates that victimize not only other Chinese nationals but other foreigners and Filipinos as well.

“They are engaged in kidnap-for-ransom. They prey on their own compatriots,” he said.

The Mindanao lawmaker also welcomed the President’s announcement that the Mindanao-Visayas energy grid have been interconnected.

“Hopefully, there will be no more power outages in Cagayan de Oro City and other parts of Mindanao,” he said.

He said the interconnection should also result in lower electricity rates, since many power producers in Visayas and Mindanao are hydroelectric plants.

Rufus China urged to respect PBBM’s declaration on West Philippine Sea

Cagayan de Oro City 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez today urged China to accept the declaration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on the West Philippine Sea (WPS) in his SONA yesterday.

“China should accept and respect the President’s unequivocal statement: that the West Philippine Sea is ours and will remain ours,” he said.

Rodriguez also lauded PBBM’s statement that the Philippines cannot yield and cannot waver on the WPS.

Rodriguez has been a frequent and consistent critic of Beijing’s intrusion and aggressive activities in waters and islands inside the Philippines’ 200-mile exclusive economic zone (EEZ), including the WPS.

“We are entitled to our EEZ under international law. The President is asserting our rights over areas that are legally ours. We are claiming what the law entitles us, no more no less. China can claim what rightfully belongs to it, and we will respect that,” he said.

However, he said the problem is Beijing “is overextending its territorial claim to include waters, islands and resources that are very, very far from its own EEZ.”

“Ayungin Shoal off Palawan in the south is thousands of kilometers from China. Scarborough Shoal, or Bajo de Masinloc to Filipino fishermen, is near Zambales and Pangasinan in the north, and it is hundreds of kilometers from China,” he said.

“How can Beijing legally justify its claim over these shoals and waters that are inside the EEZ of our country? It’s time for Beijing to listen to the President and respect what he says in the interest of peace, stability and harmony,” he stressed.

He added that no country in the world can accept another nation’s extension of its territory.

GilBe Dalipe Condemns Use of Deep Fake AI Video to Attack President Marcos

House Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe has strongly condemned the people responsible for the fabrication and dissemination of an AI-generated video to malign and attack President Marcos hours before his State of the Nation Address.

“The fabricated video, which falsely depicts the president using illegal substances, is not just an attack on his person but an affront to the entire nation,” Dalipe said.

The fake video was shown during the so-called Maisug rally, which was organized by the Duterte family and their followers and has been disseminated through social media by pro-Duterte vloggers.

“The Dutertes have been going around the country organizing these Maisug rallies to call for President Marcos to resign so that Vice President Sara Duterte can take over,” Dalipe added.

“Sobrang foul na ito. Whoever is behind this and whoever is financing this attempt to malign the president have crossed the line. I call on the PNP and the NBI to get to the bottom of this evil deed and take immediate action,” Dalipe said.

“This act is not just an attack against our president but a blatant attempt to destabilize our government and undermine the integrity of our democratic processes. It erodes public trust and poses a serious threat to our national unity,” he added.

Dalipe highlighted the poor quality of the AI fabrication, noting that the video was poorly edited and clearly identifiable as a fake. “The shoddy editing and obvious signs of AI manipulation in the video only serve to further illustrate the desperation and malicious intent behind this attack,” he noted.

The Majority Leader emphasized the need for swift and decisive action against those responsible for this attack. “The full extent of the law must be applied to those behind these unrelenting attempts to destabilize the government. Such misuse of technology for political gain cannot be tolerated,” he stated.

Dalipe assured the public that thorough investigations are underway. “We will definitely get to the bottom of this and make sure that those who were behind this fake video are held accountable. The integrity of our democratic institutions and the trust of the Filipino people are at stake,” he declared.

He called on all sectors of society to join in condemning these actions and to work together to uphold the sanctity of our democratic institutions. “We must remain vigilant against those who seek to use deceit and manipulation to achieve their ends. Our commitment to truth and justice must remain unwavering,” Dalipe concluded.

Furthermore, Dalipe stressed the importance of educating the public about the dangers of deep fake technology. “As we move forward, it is crucial that we increase awareness about the potential misuse of AI and enhance our capabilities to detect and counter such threats,” he remarked.
