MATAPOS ANG MAKASAYSAYANG PAGDALO SA UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY - SPEAKER ROMUALDEZ: ‘NEVER BEEN PROUDER TO BE A FILIPINO’

Ipinahayag ni House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez, Martes ng hapon (oras sa US) na, “he has never been prouder" na maging Pilipino, matapos na mapakinggan ang makasaysayang talumpati ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa 77th United Nations (UN) General Assembly sa New York

"I have never been prouder to stand as a Filipino in the company of world leaders. It was a great experience to see and hear our President spell out, in clear terms, what we as a people expect from the parliament of nations," ani Romualdez, na tumutukoy sa muling pagkumpirma na ginawa ni Pangulong Marcos, sa mga mithiin na pinaninindigan at isinusulong ng UN.

Sinabi ni Romualdez na ang paglahok ng pinakamataas na Pilipinong pinuno sa naturang kaganapan, ay isang makahalugang hakbang na magiging mahalagang papel sa pagsusulong ng kapayapaan at katatagan, hindi lamang sa rehiyon ng Timog-Silangang Asya, kungdi maging sa saklaw ng impluwensya ng Pilipinas.

Ayon sa kanya, ang mensahe ni Marcos – sa kanyang kauna-unahan sa entablado ng mundo – ay nagpapakita ng, "how we all need to work together to address the urgent problems plaguing the globe in this generation...That we need to act fast if want humanity to survive."

“The UN has long been an independent arbiter and an effective facilitator of the international dialogue between and among nations. It continues to be our country’s honor to be part of this global family of nations that has continued to remain faithful to its mission of fostering world peace,” ani Romualdez, na sinamahan si Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang pagbisita sa Estados Unidos.

"President Marcos’ call for global unity resonates with each one of us who fear what the tectonic shifts in the world today may bring in the coming century. The President’s words struck a chord in every Filipino household. He verbalized what an average Filipino family would want to tell world leaders: please get your acts together so that we keep families all over the world feeling safe and secure for generations to come," ani Romualdez.

“Reaffirming the principles that the UN stands for means we also reaffirm our commitment to pursue dialogue and cooperation as a peaceful means to settle conflict and disputes. And this is crucial to the peace and stability in our region,” dagdag pa niya.

Nagtalumpati si Pangulong Marcos ng kanyang pambansang pahayag sa harap ng mga miyembro ng UN, sa kanilang 77th General Assembly na idinaos sa kanilang global headquarters dito.

Binigyang-diin ng Punong Ehekutibo, bukod sa iba pa, ang kahalagahan ng UN sa pagpapatupad at pagsusulong ng pandaigdigang batas, kabilang na ang pagiging kampeon sa pandaigdigang ugnayan at kooperasyon.

Sinabi ni Romualdez na ang madamdaming talumpati ni Pangulong Marcos sa UN ay nagkukumpirma sa layunin ng bansa na igalang ang mga obligasyon sa ilalim ng pandaigdigang batas.

“By reaffirming the ideals of the UN, we also recognize that the Philippines is a part of a bigger world community and, as such, must adhere to the principles mutually agreed upon by members of the UN,” ani Romualdez.

Sa pagtatapos, pinasalamatan ni Romualdez ang Pangulo "for emphasizing to the community of nations what to expect from the Filipino nation...That we are a friend to all, and enemy of none."

Ang katatapos na pagbisita ni Pangulong Marcos sa Estados Unidos ay bahagi lamang ng serye ng pandaigdigang biyahe, na naglalayong dalhin sa Pilipinas ang mga kinakailangang pamuhunan, matapos na maranasan ng bansa ang masamang epekto ng pandemya. #
